Ah, as my new friend Ross put it, the “lead skies” have arrived. Gentle sun hides behind low clouds that drift in from the pacific ocean. The temperature has dropped dramatically and I can wear my boots again.
This is a picture of Thailand but I know I will love the Oregon Coast in the winter. From a warm cozy beach-side motel named something perfect like the Cozy Cove Beach Front Inn.
This morning the coast of Maine caught my eye on out shower curtain world-map.
I noticed it is on a similar latitude to Oregon. Yet the Portlands could not be more different in climate! Travis explained the Arctic winds that come across the Great Lakes and such that blast snow into New England, then blow out over the ocean. We are lucky enough to have warm ocean air keeping us wet and temperate here in Portland. Which means flowers all year long! Hooray!
