Travis came home with an armful of mossy beautiful tree trunk stumps last year. Maybe if I plug some lights into them I can replicate that goofy grin he had when he burst through the door, eyes wildly roaming the apartment for me, and my reaction.
I think my cheap wheels would be better served on a wall somewhere…
The other day I was biking up my old street, Salmon Ave and noticed the coolest bike-part arbor someone built on their second story patio! I will snap a picture soon, I am overdue a Portland camera bike tour.
Amazing before and after from Design*Sponge… a free standing sink island… and all that light!
I like how the blue tile and wood color scheme is maintained, yet updated for a modern look.
Ahh and giant tubs… though I love the clawfoot variety.
that grows Books!
Although, my childhood book collection would never have fit on this shelf! Perhaps just the Babysitter’s club books! Now of course, it would be full of yoga books and maybe a candle up on the top branch. Ok, I officially need this.
Lovely creation designed for city life! Herbs, flowers, indoor, outdoor… I want!
Opening like a blossom, the form allows each pocket to collect water,” Dominic says. He adds, “The planter is made using a complex six-part mold (compared to the typical two- to four-part mold) with seventeen post-molding cuts. Each piece is [...]

White…. light… such big wonderful windows! Nice chairs.
Oh that mirror. And what a floor lamp!
I love how the light filters through the bookshelf and creates a glow. Sheepskin on bare wood floors makes me happy.

I need this chair! Phoebe would love it just as much as her kitty, and look so regal against that lovely pattern.

Oh how I love Amy Butler’s pattern designs! I want the full set…. sheets, curtains, rugs, pillows…. not really. But I want the rug alot. Then maybe a simple white palette of sheets and curtains. I love white, it makes the accent pieces in a room really pop!
Blogger Anne Sage stokes [...]
Visions of my future kitchen… “Green Pockets” designed by Maruja Fuentes. They are a mix of ceramic tiles and planters that mount right onto the wall and give the illusion of the plants growing right out of the wall. She feaures lovely little succulents, but I wonder if the tiles are [...]
Oh to have a long expanse of wall space in my kitchen! I love our vintage 1920s house, but it can get quite TIGHT with 5 people (or more as usual) trying to cook/eat/clean/imbibe! I am much in favor of open space layouts, allowing the resident to create storage/space as needed. Cabinets with [...]
What could be more lovely than a soft mossy mat to dry your clean feet?
Flotspotting: La Chanh Nguyen brings green to the bathroom – Core77.
I heart this creative way to jazz up a simple votive. Sarah from cursive design highlights the best part of summer with her porch season post, twilight!
July marks the true beginning of summer here in Portland. June is a mix of breezy spring weather plus some smatterings of rain. But July is [...]
Although I might have too many socks for that teeny little drawer. I do love cute socks. And warm socks.
I love Jill Bliss! I have a notepad she designed, and I love catching glimpses of her new work on the blog-o-sphere. The California poppies are my favorite flowers, but the Old fashioned tricycle appeals to my love of this historic Portland city I am now a part of
I know the price tag is quite ridiculous, but here are the reasons why I think I need this:
No more litter crumblies all over the floor!! Reusable liner… save the planet and all that stuff. No more stockpiling plastic bags… Its cute! The “Rooftop” entry lid allows for a fully enclosed box design, [...]
As Travis and I glided to work this morning under the ambient silver clouds, we remarked on how much we love cloudy days. Coming from Texas, that is practically heresy among Texans. We are raised to love the sun, nap in the rain, and wear flip flops all winter long to keep our hearts full [...]

There is a flower Within my heart, Daisy, Daisy! Planted one day By a glancing dart, Planted by Daisy Bell! Whether she loves me Or loves me not, Sometimes it's hard to tell; Yet I am longing to share the lot - Of beautiful Daisy Bell! Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy, All for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage But you'll look sweet upon the seat Of a bicycle made for two. We will go 'tandem' As man and wife, Daisy, Daisy! 'Peddling' away Down the road of life, I and my Daisy Bell! When the road's dark We can both despise P'licemen and 'lamps' as well; There are 'bright lights’ In the dazzling eyes Of beautiful Daisy Bell! Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy, All for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage But you'll look sweet upon the seat Of a bicycle made for two. I will stand by you In 'weal' or woe, ["weal" means prosperity] Daisy, Daisy! You'll be the bell(e) Which I'll ring you know! Sweet little Daisy Bell! You'll take the 'lead' In each 'trip' we take, Then if I don't do well, I will permit you to Use the brake, My beautiful Daisy Bell!
