Katogi Mari

her work is decidedly 2-dimensional, and her acrylic canvas work is almost identical to her Adobe Illustrator work! Beautiful eye for design, composition and whimsical proportions.
Obviously inspired by tales such as Alice in Wonderland, her attention to dreams, lovelies, and flowers is right up my alley.

i love the lyrics by leslie feist,
“the hardest part of a broken heart
isn’t the ending, so much as the start”
we never plan to end things when they are just beginning, but it is wonderful to remain close to people who have influenced your life in such an integral way. I have […]

Yellow Leaves in Pond

Fall colors in the Pacific Northwest are amazing. As the summer waned, I began to dream of spring blossoms, completely unaware of the kaleidoscope that autumn offers in temperate climates.

saved by the buoyancy of citrus

a quote from mitch hedberg.
this is a lovely poster by Chicago artist Ian Dingman.  Ian’s work can be seen in about a million magazines, plus he designed the packaging for the upcoming Criterion release of Wes Anderson’s Bottle Rocket.

david maisel: library of dust.

truly amazing work by photographer David Maisel in his work, “Library of Dust”,
Blogger Jeremy Elder writes:
The Oregon State Insane Asylum, as it was first named, opened in 1883. While it operated until the early 1970s, some of the patients who died within its walls, unclaimed by their families, were cremated and their remains were sealed […]

Woods Hole

I think I have decided that “N” is my favorite letter right now. Although g and K are a close second. I am obsessed with analyzing the points of the character. Futura, a lovely but coldy precise font always has a beautiful N.

Speaking of Futura, I came across a lovely reinterpretation of Futura that warms up its […]

MAD rebrand

Loving the new logo treatment for the Museum of Art and Design in NYC.

They recently changed the name from American Craft Museum and the new signage lends its self to numerous possibilities, while engaging with a simple, easy to remember acronym.
